Frost and Sullivan recognises ARANZ Medical as a Medical Imaging Innovation Leader

28 August, 2014

Frost & Sullivan (F&S) has awarded ARANZ Medical the 2014 New Zealand Medical Imaging New Product Innovation Leadership Award for its pioneering work in wound assessment.

The leading global market analysis company’s award recognizes ARANZ Medical’s efforts to address the need for greater precision and reliability through its wound assessment and information system Silhouette®. The evidence-based system enables healthcare providers to offer more productive, accountable treatment to patients while reducing pain and discomfort.

F&S used a 10-step process to identify award recipients. Their evaluation included analysis of the pioneering and aspirational nature of the innovation, its reliability and quality, its match to customers’ unmet needs, and its design.

F&S’s report noted that ARANZ Medical’s Silhouette wound assessment and information system was pioneering best practice in wound care, supporting better communication between health practitioners, enabling them to access instant wound status and trending information and make better informed decisions.

ARANZ Medical CEO Dr Bruce Davey welcomed the award. “This award recognises our efforts to change the way people approach wound care,” he said.

“ARANZ Medical’s mission is to transform wound care practice around the world through the successful commercialization of innovative 3D scanning applications. Practitioners have, to date, had somewhat primitive tools to support wound assessment and documentation. Silhouette equips practitioners with a 21st-century standard of care, reducing the suffering of many patients with wounds because of the higher quality information they can gather.”
