Q. How does SilhouetteMobile calibrate the images?
SilhouetteCamera™, the custom camera employed by SilhouetteMobile, uses SmartCalibration technology to automatically calibrate the images. Lasers embedded in SilhouetteCamera shine onto the skin surface and sophisticated computer software detects the lasers and calibrates the image. Factory calibration of the camera allows the system to automatically correct for camera position and depth from the wound. This requires no input from the user and there is no physical contact with the patient.
Q. Are the lasers in SilhouetteCamera safe?
Yes, the lasers are Class 1M meaning they do not have sufficient energy to damage skin or eyes in normal use.
Q. What specification of PDA does SilhouetteMobile run on?
SilhouetteMobile is sold as a complete system so the specific model of PDA will be determined at manufacture.
Q. I already have a PDA. Can I run SilhouetteMobile on this?
SilhouetteMobile is supplied as a complete turnkey system comprising SilhouetteCamera, the PDA and the SilhouetteMobile software. There are two reasons for this: SilhouetteMobile has specific requirements on the supported hardware interfaces and the SilhouetteMobile software is validated on specific hardware. Thus, no, it is not possible to employ an existing PDA for SilhouetteMobile.

Information stored in SilhouetteCentral is stored in a Microsoft SQLServer database.
